A special issue of the Journal of Applied Crystallography will be published highlighting the research contributions from registered conference participants of SAS2024. The guest editors of the SAS2024 special issue are Dr. Jan Ilavsky, Prof. Elliot Paul Gilbert, and Prof. U-Ser Jeng. We invite conference participants to submit to this special issue at any time from April 15, 2024, until the deadline of November 24, 2024.

Please submit at this address rather than via the regular submission route so that the articles can be handled properly.
Submitted papers should reflect the topic of the SAS2024 contribution and have at least one of the authors registered for the conference at the time of submission. Note that the paper review and publishing process will follow precisely the same standards and procedures of the journal as regular submissions to ensure quality. The latest journal impact factor (2022-2023) is 6.1. All papers will be processed by the editors upon submission and, subject to successful review, will be accepted as regular articles in the Journal of Applied Crystallography. To encourage early paper submission for the special issue, there will be an award ceremony during SAS2024 to present prizes for selected papers that have been accepted prior to the conference.
Authors choosing to publish open access will be able to obtain a discount on the standard open-access fee. In addition, eligible authors may already be affiliated with institutions taking part in a transformative deal and can publish open access in the journal at no direct charge; visit here to check eligibility.
